Looks pretty nice. I like the green stuff...I wonder if that tail boom would fit my rex.
Haven't heard much about the Venom birds other than the night ranger, and that's pretty much comparable to a Blade or Honey Bee. At $175 though, I'd rather cough up $50 extra or so any buy the T-rex.

Agreed, 50 beans more will get you a T-rex. Or a spektrum euipped Blade. But this actually looks nice for the money. I had the opportunity to fly the Nightranger 3D last year at my lhs. It had a brushless motor in it and it was suprizingly stable and manueverable. I might be inclined to give this one a whirl.

There's no doubt that the T-Rex is a great bird - I've got one myself - but a lot of Align's success has to do with their timing in entering the market, as well as parts support. When I've asked any of our local heli fanatics or hobby shop employees what makes the Align helis better, they're usually at a loss for words. Comparing equally equiped machines, one may appeal more to less experienced pilots due to more forgiving controls, while the other appeals to more aggressive pilots. Good luck finding two individuals that would give you the same reason for their recommendations.
Is the T-Rex the best machine out there? Who knows. There could very well be a better ship, but if manufacturer support isn't there, then it won't matter. Venom is in a good postion in the marketplace, they shouldn't have too much trouble supporting the market for their choppers. I like the look of the Venom helis, wouldn't mind trying one out and eventually pimping it with all the green aluminum!

I agree, it's just that you have align and thunder tiger (now with the mini titan, another awesome piece of kit) who've been doing it much longer than the guys at venom. I guess for the price I might try it and see how it goes. After a good motor and esc I'd only be in the hole $300 and I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to sell. The green looks sweet.

We have had customers comment its very fast and rolls very flat/axial. The 3DXL is very stable and I have flown it in stock and modified configurations and in high winds and very cold weather, about 10F, and its a fantastic platform. Try night flying, thats a challenge! With this basic chassis you can set it up with your favorite gear and push it as hard as you like. You can run 3K rpm head speads. Chassis accepts our 1550mah 3S Lipo pack and similar sized packs upto about 2100mah. Plenty of flight time. Comes with fiberglass blades stock, not foamies or wood, very durable chassis too. Ive had some hard touch downs and crash tests and it comes through in good shape.

Enjoy!

T-Rex is better than ARK X-400/HeliMax MX400/450 because it doesn't require a dremel to get a +10/-10 pitch range.
Less slop in the head for sure.
Higher quality aluminum.
The Venom looks interesting. It'll be fun to see how it flies. For now I'll keep my rex but it's nice to actually see a little competition in the market :)
