Why? So heavy and wouldnt fit in most modern chassis..

The 7.1 was decent on slippery tracks, but super slow compared to your average quantum, even with the limiter chip removed.

I think you'll be in the minority on this one Syn. Lots of guys still love their V7.1s, myself included.

What do you run it in?

the 7.1 is the only speed control i'm ever had that lasted no matter how i used it. it never blew a brake fet while running stock class, even with 2 schottky's on the motor, it never thermaled on me either. it's the best esc for offroad, especially if you're on a budget.

Synapse-Kinda small thinking if you think EVERYONE runs a Sedan with not alot of area to mount this.I know guys with sedans that even run these.
In offroad it's not THAT much heavier than a quantum but it is bigger in size.
The V6,V71 were fan favorite's for the longest time.
Love the V7.1

I stated that it is decent on slippery surfaces, especially considering its 20+ throttle maps and general lack of acceleration. I actually haven't raced a sedan in a while, but I doubt an x.1 would fit in my xxx buggy. Should I manage to fit it on the side or on the shock tower (old school style) the huge fets would cause the buggy to be horribly out of balance or top-heavy. Both of which are bad, unless on a dirt oval where you may want extra weight on the inside.

it fits just fine in a XXX, B4, or TC4...all of which are more or less "modern" chassis.
