HV ESC NOW AVAILABLE

Irvine, CA – June 18, 2007 – The high-voltage brushless speed control that is included in the #3020 HV6.5 and #3021 HV4.5 Brushless System is now available for individual purchase. The HV ESC accommodates 6-14 Ni-Cd/Ni-MH cells (7.2-16.8 volts) or 2S – 4S Li-Poly cells, and can be wired for dual or single battery packs. This high-power, reversible brushless speed control uses the same screw pattern as the Traxxas® E-Maxx™, making it convenient to install. The battery power wires are replaceable via external direct-solder wiring tabs. The HV ESC features forward, reverse, and brake operation for drivers of all skill levels and applications. It also includes many of Novak's useful features such as One-Touch programming, and One-Touch Set-Up™. The ESC features a heavy-duty 6Volt/3Amp BEC to prevent the need for a receiver battery pack, and smooth and powerful braking to slow heavy vehicles. For added cooling and efficiency, we have included the Novak Power Boost Cooling Fan and mounting bracket. The Novak Smart-Stop 4-Cell Li-Po Cut-Off Module is also included for monitoring Li-Po battery pack voltage, preventing the batteries from going below the critical safety voltage level.

The HV ESC features 3 profiles, and 256 discrete steps to deliver super smooth throttle operation. The three throttle programs give drivers additional flexibility.

 Program #1 is the default setting that allows forward, brake, and reverse functions, and includes Novak's Smart Braking II feature
 Program #2 contains the Reverse Disable feature that turns it into a forward-only ESC,
a must for racing
 Program #3 is for marine use*. This mode allows forward, as well as 25% reverse and brakes
The HV Brushless ESC is available End June 2007 at a retail price of $319.

Mamba Monster Max ya mean...?:p

And DANG IT! All I ever wanted was this ESC to be mated with my SS5800, so one christmas I asked for the entire HV4400 system and got it (and that was it....lol). Now....they come out with JUST the ESC. D'oh!

Something tells me an extra brushless motor lying around has not exactly been a big hardship for Electric Thunder. :)

Correction...TWO extra brushless motors laying around. I have a Mamba 5700 sitting unused, and an HV4400 sitting unused. So that brings my grand total to 5 brushless motors so far, with only three vehicles that run.

It's quite a hardship...I must say... At least on my wallet! I have an urge to find new vehicles to give those poor motors a home...:D Actually, I have the entire HV system as a "spare" right now. I have no clue what I want to do with it yet. 1/8 conversion (I'd get the sintered rotor of course)? Ideas....ideas...

Maybe I should just spend more money on my girlfriend.... She'd like that I bet.:):o (Her birthday's coming up... I should probably quit spending money on my hobby and channel some more into her "birthday fund"...haha!)

Oh, and for all you whippersnappers out there getting fancy ideas with the release of this controller now separate.... I'm warning anyone who has the urge to run 540 Novak motors at or below 8.5 turns without a sintered rotor on 12 cells...from my experience with an original 5800...they get HOT...:D (They pull some nice wheelies and some respectable top end though!)

LOL, does your girlfriend like brushless motors? If so, you are all set for gifts!

If by "brushless motors" you mean "jewelry, music, footwear, etc.".....then YES! SHE LOVES 'EM!:D (She's actually not very high maintenance, and surprisingly, she kinda likes my "little trucks" as she calls them; I even promised I'd let her drive 'em all..:o).

I'll take her over the Rustler any day though.;)

You know Electric, it just so happens that I have two cars begging for brushless motors. I'll be your on-the-side girlfriend if you let me have them.
