well i got this boat from my dad ive almost finished it. its a Dumas Sorceror(sp?) all it needs is some touch up sanding and paint but the engine is my problem its a K/B 7.5 water cooled. it has not been run yet because im worried about the non throtle carb thing. its an exaghust(sp) throtle. iwas wondering can i get a throtle carb for it or do i have to use it as is and risk it

I had trouble seeing the exhaust throttle at first as it's not a typical one.
Exhaust throttles seem to be more of a west coast thing but I don't know why.
What you can do is rig the exhaust throttle so that it stays wide open then switch over to a regular carb. For a new boater or even those with some time under their belts, you'll find the carb a lot easier to use.
Go with the K&B "Red" carb or one of those made for the .45 .

I've run the K&B 7.5 with the exhaust throttle, it's really not that hard to set up. However, setting it up to run with a standard carb is as simple as removing the exhaust throttle, setting up the pipe as you normally would on a "normal" engine and replacing the venturi with a standard carb. Go either way, as it suits you.

If you're looking for a carb, I saw a Perry carb on eBay this morning in the boat parts area that was used on a K&B .45 .

Found it! http://cgi.ebay.com/PERRY-CARBURETOR-FOR-RADIO-CONTROL-ENGINES-RC_W0QQitemZ170123719798QQihZ007QQcategoryZ34058QQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
