As I was about to buy another BlackJack 26 and convert it to FE look at what I found....... I guess it is no longer a need to break the bank trying to get a Nitro boat on FE power... And I'm willing to bet I can get them from my LHS for about $225 a pop when they hit the shelves...

this thing has me all giddy......:D

OR you can wait until they get the hulls in stock and get a hatch and hull for about $145. If you already have radio ESC and the gear it owul dbe the best way to go.
Most rather not have the weight of the radio box and other junk they put in them.
I am not sure how the hull runs at 40-50 mph...may not be worth a darn.

I am not sure which one to get. Until its tested by one of us, its only speculation. BUT It should blow the villian away. If not its a major let down.

The only thing I can see is the hull difference and twin motors versus a single.
Brushless is the way to go I know that but the deep vee hull has alot to say when it comes to handleing.
I am still up in the air which electric boat to buy???

G'day all,
i hope i can help out in some way :D
I have a villian EX ,although it is an sweet boat i was allways looking to mod it, i have now done it to the point where it is almost as quick as a supervee 27 (31.4mph) but the hull struggles with the extra speed, and i am having massive overheating problem , with the gearing changes and 14 cells, i have preorded a blackjack 26 brushless which should arrive in 4 week or so, i should be a cracker, there are a few vids on utube of the BJ26 BL of proboats first and second test sessions, looks sweet even at stock speed!\
i am hoping to be the first person in Australia to own one, and do some testing for the importer, cant wait.

Not yet......not real happy, my supplier sold his last two orders to other hobby shops, and forgot to leave one for me, he said i could have the display / demo model ( for the same price), he is getting a new shipment from the US early xmas, i will grab one of them. its funny no other feedback is around of the 60 or so proboat have sold.......that worries me a little.
still waiting on speed comparrisions from Proboat, just to make sure its in tha same league as the SV27 before i commit.
will keep you posted:D

Thats true...nothing even comes close in the coolness stakes, but i am weary not to end up with a boat that only does 25mph:D

Ok guys I've been away from my boats for a minute (RC Drag Racing) but now I'm back! I picked up a BJ Brushless lastnight. I'll tell you it is a looker, but I was a fan of the BJ nitro aswell. Today I tossed in 12 IB3600's, ran out back and let her rip. I did no adjusting and here is my results.
#1 The BJ was quick and turned well to the right, lefthand turns made the leftside of the boat raise out of the water and bobble around.
#2 it comes on plane fast with lil or no cavitation.
#3 plane and simple the boat just looks good on the water.
Downfalls
#1 The Steerable Outdrive has to go! I broke a dozon or so of the u-joints on my BJ nitro and they look to have no change.
#2 the hull is thin, she will not take any hits.
#3 The block of foam has to go, I think it might make it sink faster!
Fixes (IMO)
#1 a good layer of epoxy will better the hull and some pool noodles will deem it unsinkable.
#2 Twisted Liquid Racing makes a beautiful polished skater system with a breakaway rudder for about $50 bucks
#3 A quick e-mail to Steven from Offshore will get you going alot faster and more bulletproof then you need to be!...:teacher::wave:

Incase you were wondering, I have a modded Villian EX and it can't shake a stick at the BJ as far as speed goes. And I have two SV27's (one runs 36mph and the other runs 38mph on 12 cells with good props and alot of trim work) and out of the box on 12 cells I think the SV's are faster but not by much. I'll toss in my GPS after I make changes to the BJ with LiPo's and see what she will do.

It sounds like this boat is not what i am looking for.
It sounds like something that is too fast and will need mods to be dependable.
The traxxas boat I can take out of the box and tool around the marina witha decent amount of puch with some good batteries .
I am not looking for a race boat and this thing seems to lean more in that direction.
This has been a 2 year search for the right boat and I still have not made a purchase.Tuslow1 it will be intersting to see what you say about that out drive unit. Traxxas's are pretty good aren't they in stock form. I never had any problems with my old villian boat I had for a while.
Keep us posted how well this boat holds up to just normal running.

Santa left my BJ26 under the chrissy tree..........
all is set up and ready to run, just waiting on the wind to die down, have 6 X 6cell packs and 4X7 cell packs and my modded Villian EX props to play with over the week, will keep you posted!
40MPH HERE I COME.....
PS, the simplicity and lack of weight seems to be a massive positive at the moment compared to the Villain EX

A little dispointing....
OUt of the Box is it quite quick, and handles well, however it cant take 14 cells and voltage shutdown cuts in at full throtle, and the prop shafts are different sizes compard to the villain ex....
Anyone had any luck with 14 cells? or Mods yet?

Hey all,
Hope you all have a great break, i am having trouble getting full throtle at time, i spoke to Proboat and this is what they said
"You might want to try going into your radio under the travel adj, turn the value up. I hope you
find this information useful. If you should have any further questions,
please reply to this email or give us a call at 1-877-504-0233."
Any ideas what this means??
thanks guys

What else can be done to this boat to make it go faster? Besides lipo batteries...?

With a different rudder system and a 642 prop you can hit 50mph no worries.
Have a look at this link to another forum, lots of info for you.

In any thing other than flat water the EX will dominate i have one also, out of the box stock the SV is about 1-3MPH faster however with the mods nothing will catch the BJ26BL.
The BJ also can handle a little chop where as the SV cant, i also prefer the looks of the BJ and the fact that not as many people have them.
In racing circles the SV is nick named the super flip that happens alot!
Good luck
