Hey guys, my birthday is coming up soon and I usually end up with a couple hundred dollars after my birthdays.. I was looking at New Era Models site and they have a conversion kit for the savage to use LST shocks.. will it give me better preformance or just make my rig look cool? thanks!

I just got LST shocks mounted on my Savage X. I havent tried them on a track yet, just up and down the street. So far, I like them. They seemed to just glide over smalls bumps.
Now, as far as you doing it, I wouldnt recommend the New Era conversion. I have heard from a few people that the mounts are weak. I used the Innovative RC conversion and it is bulletproof. The mounting brackets are 5mm and 3mm. I would def go with the IRC mounts over the New Era ones.
Heres a link to my pics of my Savage: http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f311/RobF353/Savage/

Good luck, hope it works out for you!

Ya those mounts definitly look stronger then the new era. There is a guy named integra on the LSTforums, he has a savage and he made it entirely out of custom carbon fiber that he cut. Its used in aircraft i believe? I don't know but its tough, and looks very awesome. I think it bullet proof actually !!!! here are some pics, i remember he was selling them at one point for pretty cheap, and i heard they are some amazing mounts that look good!

Thats $46US.
Which is a great price. You get all the hardware, everything you need to mount them. I wouldnt go with CF mounts either. They are probably more than the IRC mounts and probably not much stronger, if any at all. Go with the IRC mounts, you wont be disappointed.

I got my complete set on ebay for $80 shipped from Arizona. I got the good set, not the blue with chrome springs. I got yellow springs with titanium shafts. So for the whole thing, I paid roughly $130.

Ok
1 LST Shock.
2 Savvy Shocks.
Whats the specs for each? (1 LST shock, 2 Savvy Combined)
Like how much force in lbs or w.e does it take to compress the shock?

Is this really necessary to know? It can vary alot depending on springs and oils.

Shocks should be about $80 ya after shipping. get the LST1 shock as they have alum caps and body. Not to say the LST2 plastic shock cap is weak it is still great, but the LST1 shocks look better, and i think having threaded shocks sucks, as it takes forever to adjust. I remember he was selling the CF mounts for only $30 but they did not come with hardware, but hes not selling them now, so better off just getting those alum ones.

It took me maybe 5 mins to adjust all 4 of mine.
Can someone help me out....now that I have my LST's mounted, I thought my arms would be level but that arent. I put 1" of fuel tubing on my front shafts and 3/4" tubing on my rear shafts and filled them with 40wt oil. I also tried to adjust the shocks but that didnt help me out. How can I get the truck to sit lower?

hmm, what springs are you using? maybe whoever you bought the shocks from streched the springs. 40WT is pretty thick as well IMO with LST shocks.

I noticed that symbol today too, pretty cool!
Anyway, will changing to silver or white sprins with the same setup and oil make it sit lower? What sits lower...silver or white? Can I make it sit lower without those springs?

make it sit lower properly? no. white is the softest springs and silver is pretty mid. To be honest the 40w will actually be fine then, with the light springs.

The yellow are 7.4lb rated and the white are 4lb rated. This means the white ones compress easier? Will this make the truck sit lower alone or do I need to do anything else?

thats all when your racing you want alot of travel, and you want it to sit low. The white springs do both. Because of the spring rate, and the softness. You don't want hard suspension because you want the suspension to absorb bumps, so you maintain good control of the vehicle, and don't get bumpsteer.

Ok, sounds like I have to buy some white springs. I was told that yellow are good for racing though.

maybe upfront. and whites in the rear. Or maybe silver in the rear and white in the front. Well think. Probably be better if u have the silvers in the front with whites in the rear with a rear sway bar as well. When you turn while you are on the gas, you want the front shocks pushing down.
