I disagree with that. That would be maybe #10 on my list.
I'd go for a hump pack, better servos, better tires and whatever else will help you and the way you drive.

he has the ss so he probably has his own servo in. i wpuld get a 3-speed and an aluminum clutch setup, the 3-speed will add a little top speed and make it quicker off the line

get a good pipe too, like a JP-3., one that doesn't have the rubber coupler.

Can you fit a JP pipe on a Savage X motor? I have the 4.1K engine.

I've never done it, but I think you can if you get the right header. you can't use the header that comes with a JP pipe though.

i have the reverse module and i dont notice that my truck is slower.i would get something to protect the head better than that plastic thing i got one for my savy .21 and i snapped it!!!! or get an suv body to protect the head!!! how about some extended tvps? maybe lcg ones while your at it. or some beadlocks from maximizer with some mashers or what not.

If you don't have a rechargeable 6v receiver pack, get one of those before anything else.
The 3-speed is cool.
Reverse is fun :)
What radio are you using? If you don't have a 3-channel system, you can't use reverse.

Well, the best upgrades for a savage (in my opion, this is some of what I have) Would be, Ofna throttle/brade mod, Dual Disc Brakes, Aluminum clutch setup, 3 speed tranny, and heavy duty dogbones/cups
