Esteemed R/C experts and ethusiasts,
I just busted out the Savage for the summer, and I'm having a few issues that I never really resolved last season... The truck seems to bog down whenever it starts and stalls after about 30 seconds, it sounds very baratone for lack of a better word (very low tone and sounds "growly"). It'll idle on it's own and doesn't roll foreward or anything, but as soon as you open up the throttle a decent amount it just clicks out. I did a pinch test, and it takes the car about 10-12 seconds to die off, but it does sound much better during the pinch. I've leaned out the high speed needle from the factory default of "flush with the groove" about a full turn or so 1/8 at a time, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I haven't touched the LSN or the idle screw for fear of botching up my new engine (not too experienced in the hobby, needless to say), so should I think of leaning out the low speed needle slightly then adjusting the HSN accordingly afterwards? I don't have a temp gauge, but the pinch test takes way too long, so I'm fairly sure that we're running too rich, especially since the car dies out if you apply any decent throttle (When the tank runs low on gas, it runs great!). I've been through about 5-6 tanks of gas, and I did the break in without letting the wheels touch the ground by the books to a T.
Any suggestions to help break the truck into the tuning clear? Thanks for all your help in advance!
