Bought A New Set Of Integy Aluminum Shocks For My Mgt. Anybody Know Any Good Set Up Or Shock Oil Wt. To Put In The New Shocks.

To be quite honest with you, that was probably a mistake. The Integy shocks, at least for the MGT aren't very good. They seem to like to leak a lot, and don't really seem to soak up as much. A nice set of FT shocks would be better, or even just the shock caps if you don't feel like spending the money.

I like the stock MGT shocks. I just ran Red springs, with 35wt oil and alum shock caps. Don't know what is the problem with stock shocks? also trimmed off the fake reservoir.

Yeah... if you haven't used them try and send them back. See if you can find a set of PowerStrokes left from Pro-Line. At least a set of FT shock bodies for the stockers would be awesome.
Otherwise, if you're stuck with 'em, go get some Associated Green Slime and slime up the O-Rings. Maybe it'll keep them from leaking.
Start with some 40-50 weight oil if you're just doing general driving/bashing. The MGT is a heavy truck so I'd use some thicker oil like that to soak stuff up better.

To be honest, the stock shocks are fine, i don't see the point of spending a loada cash on new ones, unless you're quite a serious racer/basher (which i'm not).
Actually it's fair to say i'm new to this, I've had an MGT since 2004 when I was 11, and never really used it till recently. But my Uncle ran the engine in for me because he knew i'd muck it up.
Anyways my lhs stopped selling "tornado fuel" and started selling "Model Technics" fuel. So i bought that (and it had 20% nitro rather than the 16% i used to use) and then i put it in and fired up the truck, after about half a tank it cut off. And it always does, I've re-adjusted all the settings to the standard ones, and leaned it out a tad, but it still cuts off, it's been cutting of like this for about 20 runs now, I've given up.
Any ideas? Thanks
(it could be the glow plug but i think its lost in the %$%&*%$ post)

If it shuts off, you're probably lean.
Richen it on top and lean bottom if necessary to regain throttle response.
Also, higher nitro requires a richer mixture.

It still seems to cut off. Once i start the car and take the glow start out it cuts off very soon after. With the glow start in it seems to stay running. Is this most likely the glow plug?

That's a tell tale sign of a shot glow plug. Time for a new one

If it's cold, you just need to keep a little throttle underneath it before it gets warm otherwise it's going to do that. A lot of times, these engines won't idle very well the first minute or so of the tank.

the integy shocks are great ive had them on my t-maxx for 2 years or so, granted the mgt is heavier. ive had no bending or leaking of any kind, and im not easy on my maxx. i traded my hopped up mini-t for a pro .15 maxx with integy shocks as well. i use losi silicone shock fluid........no leaks and if yours do leak just put teflon tape on the threads....fixed. just give them a try before you abandon them

What is compression in the engine? Is it basically the acceleration....or..??
Thanks

Oh yeah, I'm also thinking of getting a used MGT Factory Team .21 Cooling head. It's at a very good price, and as far as i know, whether or not the heatsink has been used it is still pretty much just as effective. Also this heatsink is far better than the standard MGT one right??
Thanks again
