OK, i have a new set of RPM Monster Clawz, the stablemaxx offset type, in dyeable white. They are unused, and i ran across an issue i need to resolve before use...

I have been told and read of several instances where Maxx-size RPM rims break! I don't know about ST rims. nor do i care at this point. I was hoping i could get some more evidence on this from anyone with RPM MT rims because i will be very disappointed if i mount my brand new ProLine step pin tires on these brand new rims and the rims break landing a jump.

i was told they break at the hub.

I was also told that boiling them will fix this fragility. someone else said that was false.

I also read that chrome versions are more brittle, possibly due to the chroming process. I believe i was also told that wasn't true (i dont quite remember).

so you can see why i'm torn on this one....

SO, anyone with RPM monster truck rims, ESPECIALLY Monster Clawz please post up! if you dont have stablemaxx rims i dont care just make SURE you clarify which model and offset you have because i'm sure the offset and rims styles have different tolerances

thanks guys and gals!

what do i do for jumping and stuff?

i've never broken the stock rims....

is this specific rim known to break? or certain brands, or all 14mm hexes? if this is true what the HECK did racers do before the proline 16 or 17mm (forgot) conversion hexes came out???

i didnt want to shell out extra money for new rims and tires and hexes...thats a LOT i could use somewhere else!

Never heard of anybody having problems with RPM durability though.
Stop worrying about it and just drive the darn truck.

I've broken rims before, but not an RPM rim. I'm any rim can break.

I have to worry when I dont want to waste the new set of step pins i have and i dont have much money set aside for tires at the moment...

thanks for the replies guys. i'll suppose i'll just have to mount them. :o:):D

ok, thanks. that makes me feel better. i think it just all depends on how you drive and what kinds of junps you're doing. maybe RPM put out a bad batch that's making it's reputation known...i dunno. i'll probably just run them and see.

sadly i'm not seeing your PM in my inbox and it's not full yet... maybe i'm just tired but the earliest was from last week and none from you? i'm not sure i havent been awake very long but...i dont see it:huh:

i run the rpm maxx clawz on my tmaxx and haven't had any problems until last week when i didn't check the wheel nuts and stripped out a hub. My clawz are the blue chrome ones. i ran them for over a year with no problems and bought them used. I have the standard offset

He didn't send a Private Message, he was clarifying the meaning of YGPM:

Got
Private
Message

Remember, I didn't send you one either:
