well a friend brought up the idea of making a few movable ramps for our personal use as the "local" track is a good half hour drive away, and honestly with my back problems right now, that inst always an option to drive/ride for that long.
We are using a slew of 3.3 revos and I have more board in the shop than I know what to do with.
I noticed in the tower hobbies catalog they have some measuring 4'X2'. but I don't know what a good starting angle is for these ramps? A 45*@ 1' rise? is 4' going to be too wide? would a 45* chamfer be a good idea at the bottom to help achieve a smoother transition from high speed flat to the beginning of the ramp? I am sure there are a few other questions I have about this before we start cutting some boards up and launching our toyz in the air, however it is 4 in the morning here, I took some pain killers a few hours ago, and for soem odd reason I just can't think straight . THX in advance for putting up with my ramblings and helping along the way :)

I'm sure dragging that ramp around will be great for your back! :)

you want to make sure it is wide enough so you can hit it reliably at high speed (3 ft at least) and make it curved (concave = hangs through) - almost flat at the bottom, increasing in slope.
You could have it two-sided with different angles from each side ...

Nope never heard of such a place. sorry that really didnt cross my mind as I wanted personal experiences with building jumping them, not just plans. But THX for finding that plan, that looks to be a good one for sure.
Seems we now have ample information to start making a few of them. THX guys.

That might just work. it has the adjustability, portability, and looks to be relatively light weight. I'm still not moving any part of it though lol. Remember boys and girls, use your legs, not your back :teacher::teacher: once its gone it is hard to get it back. THX for that though, I think that just made it so much easier. much appreciated. the google force is strong with this one :D

You could always make a ramp like the one we had at Bashfest 2K7!

the way we drive ours that name would have to be more appropriately changed to "BREAK fest" The one and only lol. Looks like A LOT of fun though.

Screw that Bashfest 2K7 ramp... if you want serious air, there's only one way to go.

After today and IF I didn't have my back messed up I could have thrown it farther than the rubber band could have ever thought ;) . BTW I was benching about 375lbs last year about this same time, i'm 6'0 and right around 275ish+ NOW :( really makes me mad I spent all last summer toning and mass loading and have nothing to show for it now but a BIG belly :(
What is that like an orange stuffed in there or something?

I did one of those ramps from the article, it works really well and it didn't take me very long to build.

I searched on "ramp" on the main page, and it came up with that listing, but no pics or article, so I could be wrong about it being the one with the chains.
