Can anyone point me to any books or publications that deal specifically with converting free flight rubber kits (17" to 30" wing span) to electric rc? I have been away from the hobby for some twenty years last flying rubber free flight and control line. I now have a large yard (1 acre) and would like to build and fly small electric rc. I have Getting Started in Backyard Flying by Backyard Flyer and Bob Aberle which gives a lot of information on the electrical components and ARF's but doesn't deal much at all with building from kits. It's also a little dated in some reference areas, especially websites. I did use it's recommendation and purchased a GWS Slow Stick to use as a trainer. The slow stick is serving the purpose of quickly getting me in the air and learning to fly rc. But I'm too old school for this foam stuff, I'm a stick and tissue guy. There are some great looking Golden Age, Guillows and Dumas kits that I would love to build, but I'm sure there are some structural beefing up that would be required and that's where I'm looking for some guidance.
I would appreciate any suggestions, thanks!
