I have a Vendetta and am wanting to go to a brushless system. I have been looking into the 1/18th scale Mamba and the 1/18th scale tekin brushless systems. The team tekin is a little more costly any reason for this? I hear that castle creations has really reliable systems. I'm also wondersing what kind of batteries i should get. Any one out there have a brushless vendetta?

They are nearly the same system. Castle happens to make both of them.
The Tekin has more adjustments that can be made without a computer. The Tekin has a plastic case, the Castle is shrinkwrap.
I'd still go with the Castle system but thats just me.

Why is the Tekin one more expensive than the Castle if they're the same thing? That's pretty lame....:(

The plastic case maybe? The name?
Not something I can really answer.

Re-badging. Look at Peak/Team Orion. A li-po pack from Peak (nothing but a Team Orion) is a few dollars more than T.O......even though when you peel the plastic label off, it's the same exact pack.

Those are like, double re-badged. Aren't they Kokam packs, then Orion gets em, then Peak gets em? Oh what a funny funny world!

I've got 5 mamba based 18th scale bl systems, including a Vendetta running a 3500kv heli bl motor. I've got a tekin 6900 in my M18 and its ok, but I really prefer the mamba adjustability and ease of making the adj using the PC and the cable.
Wraith motors ran hot if I remember the feedback I was hearing from guys who were racing them. They seemed to run better on a Quark33 esc too if I remember right. A solid motor in the 'Detta is a golden horizon 4700 or 3500. Use the 3500 if you're going to run 3S and the 4700 if you're staying with 2S. Be prepared to get some ball diffs - a bl will make short work of the gear diffs!

Any sudgestions on what kind of grease to use with the diffs? Any brand that really stands out when getting grease, I've had a few friends sudgest just getting black grease from a hardware store.
