I have a 1/12 Miss Bud that after months of usage, I have decided to replace the pull cord starter with the Sullivan Tiger Drive system. After removing most of the connecting hoses, shaft, throttle linkage and so on, I am at a stopping point until I figure out how to remove the engine... As I see it, The engine is mounted to the aluminum motor mounts with screws and nylock nuts on the underside which are in-accessable. (Circled in green on the attached picture).. the other way is to remove the 4 hex nuts on the screws that attach the aluminum motor mount to the hull (circled in yellow).. Once these nuts would be removed, the screws would still prohibit lifting the motor mount unless they fall back into the hull... In that case, how would you reattach them without having access to the screw head... If this is confussing, I am sorry, but if you have removed the motor from one of these boats, you will know what I mean and obviously how to do the job. I need advise and help...

OK. I was going to suggest leaving the motor mounts in place then removing the bolts from the mounts with a 2.5mm allen ball driver wrench.

Like the other guy said it is better to unbolt the engine from the motor mount itself it will save a lot of hasle trying to realign the engine to the flex shaft. I can speak that from expereience since I built my 1/12 scale from a replacement hull buying all the parts and putting it all together was a lot of fun especially when you can't buy the servo mount I had to build it from trial and error, but so far all is working well boat runs like a charm. Happy boating! Dave
