Got time this weekend to try the miling machine out and decided to make a drive. Im pleased with the outcome :). Any ideas oh how to improve it would be great. Got enough stock to make about 6 more. Might make some more help pay for the mill :D,

Looks nice and solid Peter ;) what's the length? Up/down adjustment on the mounting holes maybe, can't see inside the U bracket..........
Have you got yourself a hull yet?

Indeed, very impressive.

I'd like to do my own but seem to waist more time on the mill than doing anything productive.

No not got a boat yet. Its taken me longer than i thought to really get settled. Plus had to start from scratch all over again as far as tools etc go but im just about there. Gonna run a few parts off, sell a few then order a lazer45 i think, by then i will have plenty of parts. Gonna try and make my own rudder standoffs, trim tabs, water intake, engine mounts and t bars, then maybe the rudder blade. The drive is 3.75 inches to 4.5 inches. 4oz in weight. There is no adjustment on the holes but that is an easy fix to add. any ideas on how to improve or what people would want added would be great. :)

BLING, polish it up :D Reduce the middle profile of the cross member (waist it) maybe so it "looks" more engineered.
Forget the Laser, get Daves Sigma and be different ;) poorer but different :D
Are you speaking "American English" yet???

You got the poorer right  gota think of the dollar to the pound now, im so used to it being the other way around. youd be looking at around 700 dollars almost including shipping. A little to much for me now though i would love one i have to admit. The only thing with slimming the ajust arm down the hardware would have to be slimmed down too. Just worried some bugger would try and use a 8 inch wrench to tighten it then complain it was not strong enough:o. would make it look nicer though. Hows it going on your side of the pond now, looking forward to a holiday back to england. Best get saving me pennies up, be nice just to get away from this heat, still not used to it yet.

So Peter is everything BIG in Texas...
Life on this side of the pond is bearable even for those poor souls like me in Sweden
Boats getting built, I have a thread on Mayhem, some of your old mates are there as well, check it out if you get homesick.
Haven't been to the UK for a while myself but it is on the cards soon I think.
Don't reduce the thickness of the attachments, just thin or bevel the sides of the rod between the 2 attachment points.

So do you mean the ajust bar?. Gonna get my hands on a rotary table to make the bottom of the drive totaly round to stop any lift. As for is things bigger in tx, ive always been big::p lol. Gonna try and get to the uk around june or july. Do you have the full web address for that page. Will post more picks when i get the new drive done with the mods. :)
