Hey guys,

I was wondering what the market would be in super fast turn-key RC cars? Basically, I know what is needed to go fast and it would not be hard at all to setup a fast RC car on a relatively modest budget. For instance, I could setup a TC4 with the modded center driveshaft for high RPM, modded bumper to mate with the body for high speed aero, and setup the correct motor, esc, and even lipo pack. The car could be tested and radar and VSM speed varified. This would be pretty easy for a 90mph car. It would even be possible for a 100 mph car. However, 100 mph requires ALOT more technology and hand made parts which would require parts support. But, again, I could setup a few 90mph cars for sale without too much difficulty. I really enjoy the build process more than the competition (sort of). :)

Any thoughts?

The only problem you might have might be newb's who would be crashing and burninig all over the place and sending you e-mails saying your product was defective wanting a refund etc, etc care writhing your disclaimer. But rtr is hot right now should be fairly sucessful good luck.

Well in my opinion an RC car capable of going 90mph shouldnt be bought by people who are just starting or have very little experience. These kind of cars belong to the tracks. And for people who has the experience to run these kind of cars would be buying kits instead of RTR cars.
As we are all aware rc cars arent toys, they need knowladge, experience, etc.

Another good point. ;)

Bear in mind, I am not tryihg to start some business. I already make RC helis as a side business. I just enjoy building the cars so much that I thought it would be cool to setup a car, sell it, setup another, sell it, etc.

Anyway, I am just having alot of fun in this. :)

Matt...............Since you sell choppers you have experience dealing with the public and are already aware of the ups and downs ( customer compliants ) If you can handle the increase in work load I say go for it rtr is hot right now.

Sure they're toys. But even toys can be dangerous if not handled properly.

I have done what your trying to do but it is risky and you have weigh the newbs and parts support. It sound good but is it good on paper? Factor in you purely manufacturing parts that will get broken easily. I don't look at these cars as toys but well engineered scaled cars for racing. Newbs will think I got me a 90 mph car and I will beat anyone at the track and wind up breaking and ask for a refund. Too many refunds so if helis are working out stay with that and try out the car venture 1 at a time.
