I just bought a Team Orion 15 turn motor and I still have my stock tamiya esc. So i'm pretty sure it can't handle it. What are some suggestions for an esc that are cheap but can handle a 15 turn.

I don't know about you stock ESC so I can't say that it can or can't run that motor. However, I'd go with one of the IntelliSpeeds. I've used them a lot and they seem to be a very stable and easy to use ESC. They make a version that goes down to 12 T and one that goes down to 8 T. Might want to spend the extra 10 dollars and get the 8 Turn Racing. All of their speed controls have reverse execpt for the 8 Turn Pro.

Here's the 12 Turn ESC : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAXT9&P=ML

And here's the 8 Turn ESC: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAXU0&P=ML

I've two of the 8 Turn Racing ESCs and both of them have had no problems. One of them is running a 9 Turn Speed Gem Pro and the other is running a 14 Turn Speed Gem Pro.

There are a host of ESC manufacturers, that have a model to suit your requirements and budget. Also look to Stormer Hobbies as well as other online sites and LHS. Stormer has been lower in price on some items or comparatively priced as Tower with the same great service.
I just bought a new Novak 13.5 SS4cell brushless system from Stormer 254.95 vs Tower 279.99
