Hello guys,

Anyone knows what kind of gear adapter/holder/hub/mount that Nic Case use to hold a spur gear on the motor and use it as a pinion?

and where can I find it through online?

and anyone know what diameter is that? 3.2mm or 5mm?

Here are some picture from fastestrc.blogspot.com

Thanks.

I know what your talking about and I could have sworn that I have run across those on TowerHobbies a while ago but I can seem to find them again. There are, however, many prop adaptors for electric airplanes that would work. They come in many different sizes and most of them give you a lot of threaded shaft to work with. Here are some.

Also try searching for "Prop Adaptors" on TowerHobbies, it comes up with adaptors for every size input and output there is pratically.

Hope this helps.

I saw them, but there is one screw to hold it on the motor, and it would not hold the spur gear.

How about this:

Does it work?

Looks more like that one is made to be some kind of bushing/bearing. From what I can see in the picture it doesn't seem to have any set screw so it wouldn't work as a direct fit to the motor. However, if you used one of the "prop adaptors" i mentioned earlier you might be able to fit that hub adaptor over the threaded part of the prop adaptor and then screw your spur gear to that.

Know what I mean?

[Edit]: With some searching for hop-ups of that part you showed me I found the specs to a carbon fiber version of it.

Outside diameter: 1" (25mm)
Inside diameter: .40" (10mm)
Thickness: .080" (2mm)

Here's the link too: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNZK5&P=M

The one which you told me about is good, it can fit the motor shaft, but there is no screw to hold the spur gear.

How about these:

The first one looks the most promising to me, although, i'm not sure that it has a set screw style of locking on to the motor shaft. Do you know the dimensions of you spur gear and motor shaft? That would greatly help in locating an adaptor.

Also I think that just using one of those prop adaptors with the single shaft in the middle would work. Just make sure you use a good lock nut on it and tighten it down. Also you may even be able to drill out your own holes in the plate that is normally used to hold the prop on. Doing it that way I think will give you exactially what your looking for.

Thank you bery much.

The motor shaft can be 3.2mm or 5mm.
the spur gear is the standard size 60t 48p robinsons or kimbrough
