What are the specs of your esc? Can it run a 10t motor? If so then you should be able to run it in your car. I'm guessing your car is 1/12th scale. I searched for merdave v12 but there is nothing by that name. Do you mean Mardave? If that's what you mean, and you can physically fit your flatliner motor in your car, I don't see why you couldn't run it. Running on less power than what it's designed for isn't going to kill anything, if it runs at all though. Try it outside of the car, if it runs like you expect it to with only 4.8V then put it in your car.
Bear in mind, when you run a normal 540 sized motor on a standard 6 cell 7.2V battery, once the battery starts to go flat it doesn't make the motor go very well at all. The voltage at that point would be above 4.8V. So I guess only putting a max voltage of 4.8V through a 7.2V esc and motor won't make it go too well. But, all you can do is try!

Yes it is an any turn ESC. and yes it is a mardave v12 The motor and ESC are out or my Mardave cobra 1/8 and i am putting them in to the 1/12 maybe i should get 6 cell holder for the 1/12
But then it will be so fast i cant see the car?

I don't know exactly how fast it'll go. If you tried doing that in a 1/16 scale yah they go really quick with a decent motor in them. A decent 10 turn like yours with the proper voltage in it in a 1/10 scale will go fast, put that in a 1/12 scale and it should go much faster.
Think of it this way......when racers are racing their cars and they put carbon fibre bits on their cars and titanium screws only to save an ounce or 2, and they say it makes it quicker for racing, if you use 1/10 electronics (including the 6 cell battery) in a 1/12 scale, you are saving a lot more than just a few ounces over the 1/10. It should get along well.
If I were you I'd look at a way to make the 6 cells fit. Maybe you might have to make the cells in a hump configuration, such as 4 cells on bottom and 2 cells on top. But doing that depends on how much room you have in chassis or body.

Hi i ran my car today on a 4.8vbatt FAST but it just goes flat in 2 Min's
Maybe i need a new batt i may go for a 7.2 li-po . Do you need a li-po ESC for a li-po batt. I have the space because the manual SC took up a lot of room as did the receiver batt which i will not need if i am using a 7.2v

The LiPo will actually have a nominal voltage of 7.4 volts. You are not required to use a special ESC, but it would be a good idea to add a LiPo voltage cut off such as the one offered by Novak. The LiPo pack would offer a higher voltage for a longer period of time while under load.

Cool are thay lighter than the old 6 cell pack's

Typically, yes, but how much will depend on the capacity of the pack you want. I believe they layer the cells, so the more capacity you want, the more layers they use, which adds more weight to it. But I'd guess on say, a 4800 LiPo pack, you might be looking at it weighing around 2/3 of what a typical 6-cell NiMh pack would weigh....
