I have been confused with what brushless system to get, whether it's sensored or sensorless. Now it appears there are a few options with regards to motor for the Mamba

Has anyone tried running this motor http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRPK2&P=7 on the mamba esc? It says it can run on sensored as well as sensorless. Does that mean you could run any sensored motor on a sensorless esc? When I think about it I can't see why you wouldn't be able to. If the esc guesses where the rotor is in sensorless, essentially not hooking up the sensored wire would result in the same thing would it not?
If my theory is correct, that means you could run any brushless motor on a sensorless esc:D So you may be legal if you race with a Mamba esc and buy a novak motor. That sounds like it could be good.

What do all you guys and girls reckon?

I have that same motor but I am waiting for the Mamba esc as I shorted mine out. Joe Ford of castle said that those motors will work fine with the Mamba

Very good question, I started wondering last night looking for a 10.5 motor or system to run this winter. Tower stated they were legal motors but I didn't find them on ROAR's list. Anybody have info on this subject please enlighten us.

Yes, but will they go on a Mamba ESC? That is this threads topic.
