I have a relitively old r/c truck and I am looking for parts. I need a speed control, and I was wondering if I need a certain one or if any type of speed control will work?

The truck I have is a 1995 Stadium Blitzer

Pretty much any speed control will work for you. You just need to determine how much you are willing to spend, do you want reverse or brake only, unlimited turn capacity or not? Get the best one you can afford is my advice.

Yeah, what hijacker said is right. A good cheap alternative to an expensive one is this http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN4925 It will do down to a 15 turn. You can get some quick motors that are 15 turn or above. 19turns are quick, easy to find, and aren't too picky on gearing. It's a good compromise with run-time and power and top speed.
If you want to get even a faster motor, go for this one http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN4927 In you satdium blitzer you probably can't gear it correctly for anything less than a 12 turn, so there is no point paying for a no limit ESC.

I'm not saying these are the best ESC's money can buy. I'm just showing some cheap options for a brand new esc with a full warranty. If you have loads of money, get something better, but these will do the job.
