View Full Version : Spektrum Nitro Telemetry - where's the battery?

HI - I just bought a Spektrum system and nitro telemetry unit for my Airtronics radio. The instructions for installing the telemetry module say: "...the module is attached to the receiver via the included male-to-male telemetry lead provided. The telemetry lead must be PLUGGED INTO THE BAT/TEL PORT IN THE RECEIVER AND INTO THE T BATTERY PORT IN THE MODULE." Ok, so if there are 4 ports on the receiver labled "battery", "throttle", "steering" and "aux" and they're all used (with the "battery" port directly connected to the telemetry module), then how does the battery power get to the receiver in the first place? I know there must be some obvious answer to this, but I'm missing it. There is no Y-harness or anything included in either the Spektrum transceiver box or the telemetry box and it seems it would be if it were immediately needed. What am I missing?

And am I missing an official Spektrum support forum board somewhere? Why do I have to ask for Spektrum support on the RC Caraction forum site?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You should be able to plug your battery into the auxillary channel slot.

Thanks for the info. I received some info from Horizon Hobby and they said the same thing (and to add a Y-harness for my transponder). Thanks for the reply. (too bad Spektrum doesn't have this in their instructions as it is an obivious issue for anyone that has a nitro buggy).

Yeah, seems like most companies don't really think through their instructions sometimes. They just assume we already know.

Those companies are quickly converting to RTR to fix the situation. :)
