Hi all,
As you may know im in the midst of a Brushless covnersion and the time has come to choose gearing for my beast.

For those who dont know, my set up at the moment is:

12 very good quality NIMH cells.
MM esc
Feigao 540 9XL (NON rebuildable)
VTX ST-1 truggy.

I will be getting the Ubec along with the pinions soon and so i need to know what to gear the beast.
The spur is a 48 tooth (mod 1 of course). and finally, the Diff is 11/38 (internal ratio i think its called - 11 tooth pinion and 38 tooth spur).

after calculating on RC-Monster for 35Mph ISH i came to the conclusion of getting a 15 tooth pinion - does this sound about right?

If so, then where do i get the pinions from, are the Megamotors USA pinions suitable for steel spur's?

Thanks all,
Demon

I don't know if this has ever been posted but I was having trouble finding certain pinions and I found this site:

http://www.sdp-si.com/

If they don't have what you need than you can have any gear made to your specs.

I have never used them but the BattleBots guys do.

You could also try megamotorusa.com for the gears. I bought some and they are very nice.

how much wear do you get on the pinions? how well does it hold up?
