So when are the 1/12th pan cars going to convert to 380 motors and 6 cell 2/3A batteries. That would make for one hell of a fun drive and be easier on the pocket book.

Is this system going to be able to move a 1/18 truck with some authority?

That certainly is the plan!! :D

Is this system going to be able to move a 1/18 truck with some authority?

I'm gonna guess the answer to this is no, but... Any news on specs or a guess at a release date?

I can't decide if I should buy a Mamba system for my Micro RS4 now, or wait until the Novak comes out and see what it's like.....

THE MONGOOSE IS ON THE LOOSE

Irvine, CA – Oct. 15, 2007 — Novak has bred a new micro brushless system that is ready to be released--the Mongoose Micro Brushless System. This system includes the new Novak Mongoose Brushless/Brush ESC factory-wired to a new Novak Three-80 Micro Brushless Motor. The Three-80 is the first sensored brushless motor that is specifically designed for 1/18and 1/16 scale-cars. Because it is sensored and lightweight, it allows these micro scale cars the ability to maneuver at high speeds in extremely tight spaces, all with unsurpassed low speed and brake control. The Mongoose’s Brushless/Brush ESC and sensored brushless motor are perfectly matched to maximize performance and handle with the agility and speed of a mongoose.

Why Sensored? Like the popular Novak Velociti brushless motors, the Three-80 Micro motors feature a sensor commutation design. Knowledge of rotor position is key to smooth performance and is just as important in micro vehicles as in larger-scale vehicles. When the speed control always knows the rotor position, there is no hesitation before acceleration under load. The motor will provide excellent low-speed driveability, excellent starting torque, smooth braking and no uncontrolled bursts of power. Other motor features include a high-strength, Sintered Neodymium rotor for maximum motor acceleration and an oversized front bearing for increased load-handling and bearing life. Like all Novak brushless motors, the Three-80 Micro motors will be rebuildable.

The Mongoose Micro Brushless/Brush ESC is a versatile, full-featured speed control specifically developed for micro applications. In addition to its compatibility with both brushless and brush motors, it instinctively knows via its Auto-Detect Brushed Mode when a brush motor is connected. Multiple throttle profiles are included for different driving styles, including a racing profile for top-level forward performance, and sport profiles including reverse. Additional features of the Mongoose Micro ESC are its on-board programmability, built-in Li-Poly Cutoff Circuitry, heavy duty 6.0V/2A BEC, and water-resistant case.

Novak is in the final development stages of the new Mongoose Micro Brushless/Brush ESC and Three-80 Micro Brushless Motors. The final product photo, specifications, features, and available motor turns/Kv will be announced at a later date. The new #3050 Novak Mongoose Micro Brushless System is scheduled for shipment end of December 2007.
