I was at a race this past weekend and got interested in the RC10T4 and I'd like to start form scratch and get the team kit, its my first kit. So i was wondering what you guys recommended for running equipment, chargers, and batteries.

Personally I would get a Novak 8.5 brushless, Super Brain 989 charger, 8000mah lipos and then replace whatever breaks :D

Atleast that's what I'm currently doing with my rustler. If this is your first RC grade car I would prob keep the stock motor for a little while until you get some experience with it, brushless just breaks more things faster. If your budget allows I would still get the lipos though because they will put more punch and runtime into any motor setup. That way your not wasting your money with a cheap charger and batteries and then have to replace them later. But if you're not sure if you will stay in the hobby lipos can be a big bullet to bite.
I don't know how much you know about RC but the reason for the brushless motor isn't just more power but it's also more efficient and almost maintenance free. And as for lipos they have slightly more voltage than a 6cell sub-c pack and their discharge curve is much flatter, meaning they run hard for 80-90% of the pack and then dump voltage at the end. (very nice) They are also lighter than a comparable Nimh pack. An 8000mah Lipo weighs about the same as a 3300mah Nimh.

DEFINATELY not my first RC, but I don't brushless, I'm thinking just of a good stock motor. I want it to be like I'm just getting into competitive racing. So as far as equipment I was wondering what you recommend for power supply, good charger, servo, ect. I want to try to get in for under $800.

Under $800 shouldn't be too bad. I can't give you specific upgrades for the T4 as I've never had one but...
$145 Super Brain 989 (w/Power Supply)
or
$130 ICE charger
$90 15amp RadioShack Power Supply
$175 T4 kit
$120 8000mah Lipo (35+ min runtimes prob)
$25 Lipo LVC
$35 Hitec 625/645mg
$5 Servo saver
$30 Motor
$50 Duratrax Intellispeed 16T ESC
$43 Futaba 2PH radio
$15 Pinion Gears
$643 - 718 Total without shipping
You can obviously substitute things in but this will give you a rough idea of what you'll need to get started. The thing about lipos is that you can really only charge them at 1C, so any pack you get is gonna take 1hr-1.25hrs to charge, so the higher capacity you get the more you can run with the same down time.

With a budget of $800, you could get some good stuff. The list that Viper7016 gave is a good list of suggestions.
If you don't want to go lipos, you can save big time on the charger and get a fairly decent charger a lot less. A good feature packed charger for the money is a Duratrax Pirahna Digital http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLD5&P=ML
You can get power supplies considerably cheaper than the $90 15amp one on that list. You don't need 15amps, unless you want to run more than 1 charger off it at the same time. If you plan to charge the batteries at 5 amps or thereabouts, the power supply doesn't need to be any higher than 1 or 2 amps MORE than the charge rate.
The Co27 motors are supposed to be pretty good. The only 27t stock motor I have is a P2K2. I run it in my B4, and it's pretty good. My 19t motor is a lot more fun though in my B4 (which is virtually the same as the T4), and if a 19t class exists where you want to race, I would get the 19t over the stock 27t. It's just more fun!!!
I don't know much about what servos to recommend. I've only ever had el-cheapo kit type servos and I've never had a problem with any of them stripping or anything.
