I have an original HV-maxx system and was wanting to know if that ESC will work with Novaks new line of HV motors or is it a totally new ESC? Thanks!
I also bought an original HV-MAXX, but have since upgraded to the new rotor, and then later bought the HV4.5. It works pretty well with the 4.5, but you have to keep a better watch on gearing & temperatures. Make sure you have a fan on your ESC. AFAIK, They are still selling the same ESC with the HV4.5. I also use my setup with Lipos (4S) and a Novak 4s Lipo saver.

It's still the same ESC that comes with the HV6.5 and HV4.5.

One thing I forgot to ask was what size is the fan that comes with the HV system. Mine didn't come with one and if I upgrade to the newer motor I won't to put the fan on it this time. Thanks

The fan for the ESC? I think it's a 40mmx40mm. I don't have my HV ESC up here with me at college, so I can't be sure. You can always go to Novak's site and they should have the size of the fan on the HV ESC page to double check.

Thunder is correct,
The fan that comes with the HV Maxx is a 40x40 mm fan.
