I am a bit lost .. I am looking for a 6 channel radio which I can use with the Tamiya Knight Hauler, Semi Trailer and installed MFU - So far I found out that you need a 4 channel radio .. as I want to do a modification by myself as well .. eventually .. which I would be able to trigger from the remote. So I assume (hell I am radio n00b) I'd need an additional channel for this ?

Anyhow .. it seems that the best choice is a Futaba, so checking all sorts of webpages I can see that there are models for AM, FM, 2.4 Ghz and God knows what.

Its hard to find the right requirement when reading the Tamiya website so maybe someone get shed some light on that for me ...

I know its always a pain in the back to help n00bs with the same questions all over again, but I don't even know what to look for when searching google or the forums.

Anything 6 channel will work as long as you can order it on 75MHz. Do not use one on 72MHz because 72MHz is set aside for aircraft and you could potentially crash someone's plane.
2.4GHz is also alright. The DX6 or 6EX wouldn't be bad choices. If you ask your hobby shop, they should be able to special order you any radio with two sprung gimbals. We were able to get Spektrum to order a DX7 with a sprung left gimbal for a guy with some big tanks.
