Hey, I'm looking for a radio with the following:
1) pistol grip
2) programmable (multiple car support)
3) FM
I know the 3pk is probably the best thing out but when you talk about buying the radio, modules for my revo 3.3, micro t, and possibly the other couple of kick around cars I got, your talking serious cash :( I'm trying to get something that is a little nicer on the pocket if possible.
any idea's ?

I would suggest the Hitec srx. You can pick one up for $99 on towerhobbies.com (tx and rx, no servo). 10 model memory, four character model naming, plus a ton of other features. You can also upgrade to Spektrum when your budget allows.
You can get a Futaba 3pm for $110. It has wored well for me.

I have 2 radios that run 14 soon to be 17 rcs. One is a 3PK and the other is an older 3PJS, both with 10 model memories. I bought them both on ebay (the 3PK was new - won as a door prize at some big western race) and guy didn't want it. I use mostly futaba PCM rxs, r113ip, which I started buying new. New they're about $90, but thanks to revolution in radio tech (spectrum) they've gotten real cheap and my last 6 or so cost less than $200. I bash and see no reason for upgrading to spectrum, I've had no glitches or probs since changing to FM.
You can find some really good deals on radio equip on ebay if you know what you're looking for and are careful. I've saved a lot of money and have reliable radio equipment.
Of what's been suggested, the 3PM would be my choice.

Like Duster I'm doing the same. Futaba PK and Airtronics M8/11 has good car memory. M8/11 I use Novak Switch the takes care of TX Crystals. Run Airtronics RX & novak XXL RX with no problems, Micro to 1/8th scales both Electric & Nitro. Upgrading to Specktrum class radio to expensive for radio and RX, Bashing or racing at the track Ihave no problems.

If your going to buy new you should look at DSM too not just FM. If used you can find great deals on ebay for older 3PJ and 3PJS radios. I picked up a spare 3PJS for a song with charger and NiCad battery. At the time I thought I was having radio problems so I wanted a spare to send my primary in to get worked on. Turned out it was an issue with my Spektrum which has since been fixed.

So in other words, what are all the pieces I need for setting up one controler for a revo 3.3, micro-t, old blackfoot, and anything else I want to add later :) Do I need to change all the modules in the trucks?
Ultimately I might change it in the revo anyhow - but that won't be till the spring when I convert to forward only, center diff, and center brake.

You'd need a radio system programable for multiple cars...it would be best to also have a different reciever for each of them. If they are all on the same channel then you won't even have to change crystals going from vehicle to vehicle.

I have the Futaba 3PM with a r133f receiver for each vehicle. I just have them all on the same channel. The 3PM is $130 which includes a receiver, and you can usually get receivers (r133f or r153f) on eBay for less then $30
