Thundercat 31 vs Blackjack 26

If You Were To Buy A Nitro Boat, Which One Would You Pick. The Proboat Thundercat 31 or the Proboat Blackjack 26... If anybody has ran these boats can you give me some advice on which boat to choose from....

Is this going to be you're first nitro boat? You're comparing a full size pickup (Thundercat) to a mid size pickup (Black Jack 26). The Thundercat is a larger boat, with a larger engine (.32), and stainless steel drive hardware. The Black Jack is a smaller boat, with a smaller engine (.15, upgradable to a .18), and a plastic steerable outdrive unit. You can adjust the prop height on the Thundercat. On the Black Jack, you're set at one prop height; so you can't tune the boat for the lake conditions. If you can afford it go for the Thundercat.

I'd go with the Thunder Cat over the Black Jack if those were my only two choices.
I hate being right but I predicted before the BJ 26 was released that there was going to be problems with the steerable outdrive. It doesn't seem to handle corners well either. Watch the video on the Horizon Hobby web site and you'll see it.
There are tweaks that should be done to the TC 31 also, most no to low cost things to make it faster and more reliable.

In the case of these two boats, they are like any RTR out there. They both have there ups and downs. Most of it is size between these two RTR power boats. The blackjack may not handle well in the video from manufacturer but I am seeing plenty of guys with the Blackjack 26 who have them cruising pretty good. Specially the converted electrics. Same for the TC 31. Again I think its more your own personality. I myself prefer the TC31...cause its big for the money and pretty fast for a RTR. The thing is any RTR out has its fall back and get ups. The cool part is now you can change and modify them if you like. That what R/C boating is all about. Get a boat...make it yours.
