Hi, i have just brought a RC car from :
http://www.rc-hobbies.co.uk/product_...roducts_id=579

The instructions say charge for 2.25 hours, (its a 7.2 1800 maH batt)

The problem is it ran lovely for about 5 minutes, not it just shudders when you try and go froward or back, sterring works ok, but no movement forward or back, and it does seem like it is trying, but lacks power?

Could it be lack of power, or is the car broke?

Prob not - you just ran the battery down - when it stutters, its time to re-charge the battery.

I don't know what kind of charger they sold you, but look on the charger and see what the output is. Some where it should say output equal so many volts and so many ma. Approx charge time is 1800mah / charger output in ma = hours.

So, if your charger says 200ma output, approx charge time is 1800/200 ~ 9hrs. If you get the bigger battery, get a better charger, one that peak charges the battery. I suspect the charger you have is a plug in the wall, trickle type charger which will not give you the best charge like a peak type charger will. A better charger will also charge battery quicker, that 4300 mah you talked about elsewhere in a little more than one hour.

The time you quoted for charging means the charger's output should be 800ma. The 4300mah battery would take that charger 5.4hrs
