Bluebird make a nice servo - 631Mg, bearings metal gears and about 0.08 second transit on 6v. i had one for about 2 years and it eventually burned out on me, but was a very nice servo while it was working...cost something like 30$ i think...

Avoid the bluebird servo. I've never heard of one burning out before - everyone I know that's used them has had the cases break on them.

the case's are more brittle than most other servo's but if you use the grommets and whatnot they are damn good servo's. i had one for two years and thought of it as an excellent servo.

Skip Hitec and save your money for a good servo. Futaba, Airtronics, JR, KO, Ace all make excellent servos at the same price point as Hitec's premium servos but work better and last longer.

well for a modorate price, KO, JR and futaba are all out - unless u get the slightly worse ones....which are still pretty good.
im running KO servo's in all my cars (minus truggy- but i only just got it) and have to say that for quality, performance and durability they really are second to none. so a higher dollar servo you will see why they are better, mind u, for half the price u can get similar (but never quite there) from other lesser known brands.
Take care,

I would recomend the z9100s, but then again I've been waiting on mine for more than a month now. Seems JR is having problems with supplier/customs.
I had the hitec digtal servo's BOTH die on my ofna buggy after a good crash this weekend, upon inspection I found that both of the brushes were pulled away from the armetures in the little motors that drive the servo's... bent them back and they work again.
I've had the Bluebird servo's also, one of them still works but it makes the radio "glitch" the other servo's when you move it. The other three died from havng the two piece metal drive gears seperate. Definatly junk.

I have 2 BL451s and they work excellent in my Losi 8. I have used them for about 2 months now and no problems to report. They are quicker than the 4 Airtronics 358s I had, but those were quite old. They also are quite smooth, but not as smooth as the JR 9000 series that I have tried. I do not want faster than .08 for steering in my buggy, it would be nice, but it does slow down my lap times, most likely because I am not used to them however.
I always recommend a high dollar servo. Don't skimp on the essentials.

Sounds to me you want a fairly inexpensive yet durable servo, go with the Z650mg servo should suit your application just fine. I like the JR servos and ran the Z590mg in my electric touring and never had one strip or break on me. Since you are running the NTC3 the 650 has more torque for you. You can get them off of Ebay brand new pretty inexpensive.
