i aws on traxxas.com watching the e-maxx v-twin concept (wich i hope gets released to the public) and was wondering about the ratings on the setup because even with dual it was only getting 50+ thay said. i know thats fast for an e-maxx but i was hoping for 70 - 80..lol.
i found out something else when i was looking. they got both of those in there b/c they only run off one bat.. then it also said it auto detects if it sensored, sensorless, brushed, or brushless.. thats the first esc ive evr seen do that. and on top of that it said that it can handle a 3s lipo..i think that would be 11.1v?..
so think about it..if your running dual setups of these on lipos (22.2 volts!) and its still only reaching 50+..
i was just wondering what the motor rating on those are b/c of that.
sry i wrote so much.. ty for ur help!
any other help or specs with this setup would be a lot of help.:D

For the most part, if you take identical trucks and give one an extra motor, you can't really expect any extra speed as the extra motor will only increase acceleration and torque. Top speed may increase, but not by much.
Although you're running on 22.2 volts, its really giving most the power to torque, acceleration, and whatnot, but not really top speed. Having 2 motors generally gives you power, but not neccesarily top speed.
I think 50+ would seem like a lot more in person given the size of the truck. Although it may not be as fast as the Rustler VXL with a 3s, the E-Maxx equipped with dual velineon systems and 3s packs will be insane with power and with definitely climb a steep hill a lot fast due to the extra torque from dual power systems.

50+ mph is *plenty* fast enough for a monster truck. Even if it was capable of 60mph (for example), you'd have a hard time getting there. Once you get above 45, monsters like the E-Maxx become very unstable and difficult to drive so there just isn't any point in it being faster. Smaller, lower-CG trucks like the Rustler can handle these speeds much better, but big and heavy monsters don't take to them too kindly without real modification. More than 50mph would just be be pointless, IMO.
You also have to remember that the V-Twin isn't a 22.2V system...it's two 11.1V systems working together. This is far from ideal as it's not efficient as a higher-voltage, single motor setup and gearing them taller will just cause heat issues.
And incidentally, sorry to burst your bubble...but Traxxas don't have any plans to release the V-Twin anytime soon (if at all). Even if they do, it'd be very expensive; an E-Maxx with a single motor system would be better and cheaper.;)

I have no doubt that the one velineon would push the truck around with plenty of authority. The problem is that it will get HOT AS HECK in a hurry. That's the point of 2 motors, or one larger motor. They make more natural torque that way. You could gear it up but you're going to start blowing stuff up.
And like dagger Thrasher said, it's not 22.2V. It's 11.1v, or 2 3s setups on one truck. I did a clodbuster like that one time. It ran awesome with 2 2000 7.2v packs and 2 seperate ESCs with brushed motors.

ok..thanks...evn though i was really hoping that they would release it...lol. btw.
i know that after they get up in the higher speeds b/c they sit so much higher nd there heavier they cant handle them and the steering gets real touchy..
i read ltr that u can order just the esc's and they have no motor limit..ad can also handle both senserd and sensorless motors..and suto dtects them.
so since the velineon motors are only 3500's i was gonna get the new e-maxx..two velineon esc's..and two faster motors. i know i said i wanted like 70 mph outta this thing..that would be nice and all..but like you guys said..i knew it would get touchy..but i forgot about the whole gravity idea..lol
ne one know a good company that maes good 3s lipo's? i like the ones i the plastic cases b/c they look cleaner..fairly new to lipos so if theres something worng with the platic cases or a dif and lighter type..help..lol
oo..and.. the thing i rly liked about the velineon esc's is that their water resisitant with o-rings and rubber seals case..so if u pput a fan on it that would help keep some water splashes off of it and it could handle the rest..it auto deteects the mtor type..and it alsohas no mtor limit to it.
sry i keep writing so much..lol.. thanks for the help so far! keep replying! plz..:D

Even a rustler at 70 mph is pretty twitchy. If you had an emaxx going 70, im sure you would break more things. Much less, you will only be able to go in a straight line. If you want to hit high speeds.... get a tc or something more suited for it. I have had a 6t brushless in my evader for a while now, but it is just not that much fun because once you get in the upper speeds, the COG and tires make it nearly impossible to turn without eating it.
