it was a blast. she is a great lerner, and a hard basher LOL!!!
I got my mgt tuned up and gave her a general idea how to make it go steer and stop. and let her have at it.
shure, she held wot, for way too long, and reved the engine to un imaginable rpm's but she had a blast driving, and crashing in to stuff.
it was great!

Now, give her the MGT, and that way you can buy the MGT 8.0 for yourself.:D

I diddnt realley "teach" her how to drive. I just showed her how to steer using the wheel on the controler and said pull the triger back to go, and foward to stop. she basicly learned to drive in 1 tank of fuel.
she managed to flip the truck over a fiew times, run under her crv ( killing my grave digger body, lol ) hit the tire of her car and do a couple of spins from that. haha. but she had a blast driving it because I did not give her all the "rules" about not holding wot for too long or any be careful about this or that crap to make her worried.
I just got the truck started, called her out front, and handed her the controler. and she had at it. I played turn marshal and ran and got the truck when she managed to get it stuck, like up against mailboxes, bushes and neighbors cars. haha.
it was so much fun for both of us.
she now understands my passion for the hobby, and hopefully I can get her and I matching viechles for christmas. maby losi mini sliders.
that way we can share a hobby and spend qt. together doing something I (or both of us) like to do.

This part's not so difficult. Sometimes they do it just because it's important to you and want to spend time with you.
Getting them to shop for RC isn't too hard either, as any kind of shopping is second nature to women.
Now, if you can get her to wrench on it and repair it herself - dude you got it made. :D

I wish my girl would be a tiny bit interested in rc. I'm jealous.

I am usually more of a lurker and reader now that i've sold all my RC gear, but just had to post this up....
My daughter, now almost 6, loves RC's...and soon she and I will get another one...perhaps one we can build together, that will help with the "get her to wrench on it and repair it herself" part.
But once I read this, I was instantly brought back to my high school days and the beauty of high school psychology class. Our teacher had us run and experiment, which I think is pretty relevant here....he had a board with a mirror leaned over it and put down a piece of paper and you had to trace inside the shape, which in this case was a simple star. The rub was becuase you only had the mirror to work with, you had to do it backwards. The funny part, and the point of the experiment was that all the girls in the class flew through it...it was timed....and boys couldn't do it all, or took a much longer amount of time. Seemed odd, but the explanation was even funnier.....his logic was that since girls are taught, or learn, to put on makeup in the mirror, they are already conditioned to doing things backwards...so where's the RC relevance you say? Easy....it's not that much of a leap to apply the same logic to wheeling your rig around a track where often times you need to move left to go right......
So remember that when you attempt to let her drive your RC next time.

My gf (ex) complained about the rc. So I bought her one, another RC18T, figuring if she didn't take to it, I could steal parts.
She did alright, but hit her own feet so much it was funny. Just full throttle till something gave....
