I wasn't around here too much this summer. Then I start coming around here more this fall and notice that it is MUCH slower traffic around here.

Anyone have a clue where all the traffic went? Just curious.

Yup. It's been that way for months now. You can also see that most veterans don't post much here anymore.

Why slow? HINT: Hot / New stuff forums :D.

This thread might be deleted anytime now.. Bye.

It's been slow ever since they switched servers. I think that each page is routed through a different site, slowing it all down.

I barely come around anymore because it is so slow. If I wanted dial up speeds again, I'd just go back to dial up!

What are you guys talking about? You must actually be on dialup if it is that slow for you. For me its instant.

Read my post... I'm not talking about speed, I'm talking about the amount of traffic.

It's getting cruddy. Getting colder with less and less sunshine makes me a grumpy man. LOL

I did get in a little riding today though

I know you're talking about traffic but the poor speed is affecting that for some of us. I don't visit very often or post anymore since for whatever reason, the site is abysmally slow for me - regardless of where I'm at (work, home, friends house etc) or what PC I'm on or what OS its running. Its been this way for months. Other forums I'm on don't have the prob, so its something about this site that makes it so slow.

I reviewed overall forum traffic and it just shows the normal highs and lows. For example, strong in August but dipped in September (school starting up) and starting to rebound in October. The forums alone gets thousands and thousands of visitors--many, many lurkers. The forums, like a lot of other things, are all what we make it. Start some good threads and that will lead to other good threads. Wait around for someone else to start all the good talks and everyone will likely do the same.

What about the actual site being slow though? Last night, it took over 20 seconds to open a page on my end and I'm on cable (granted it is Comcastic ).

20 seconds is very extreme.

I will continue to work getting any speed issues solved.

Is it me...But somehow, loading times (not traffic) got a little more faster(?). I guess they did something.

Matt's on the case. Good to go.
I know what it is ... the server is mad that Hot News/New Stuff isn't getting direct posting like it used to. ;)
Okay i'll shut up :D

WOW, thats noticeably better! On avg about 3sec to load new page, way, way down from the 20sec or so its been taking!

Do you know what its like looking at a white screen for 20+sec? Not more!! Thanks to whoever for whatever you changed, please make note of it, it made a huge diff for some of us!!

Oh yea. I like that one too. It's especially helpful when you're looking for information you know is there.
