Hi Clarence,
Just a quick question. I'm stripping down a Saito 120 for a friend as the motor was stripped down by someone else & fitted a new ring, but didn`t deglaze the bore as a result there is fuel leaking out of the camshaft bearing & the pushrod seals due to blowby into the crankcase.I am going to deglaze the bore & check the ring then gap it at 3-4 thou to the inch,an old motor mechanic said that air cooled engines require a much larger gap,but I`n not sure about this,What do you suggest.
Many Thanks,
Keithy
Keithy, 3-4 is pretty tight. 6 would be better. Clarence
