Hello and Happy Holiday. As you can see this is my first time here on your forum. I am going to buy me a R/C Hydroplane. Would like your opinion on what is better. Is it Electric R/C Boat or is Nitro the way to go. I would like to know what you all thing. Going to be spending my fun money and I want to get the best bang for my bucks. Thanks for your time and can't wait to here from you.

Once upon a time, nitro was the only way to go for fast boats. Electrics were heavy and slow. Today battery and motor technology has made great strides so that in some sizes it's possible to race nitros and electrics together and not be sure until the race is over who will win.

So, now it comes down to (a) personal prefference and (b) living arrangements. I mention that last one because some folk live in apartments and the management might frown on having fuels about the place. Electrics don't have the problem of having to store fuel so they would get the nod for those who live in apartments.

So, I guess it comes down to you. Electrics and Nitros each have advantages and disadvantages, so you have to weigh them for yourself and figure which you'll be happier with.
