Just got these pix in from a new contributor to Model Airplane News. Andy Anderson designed and built this beautiful Convair 240 / C-131 Samaritan transport-cargo plane around a pair of O.S. .32 2-stroke glow engines. It has a 82 inch span and includes flaps and retracts. Watch for a construction article in MAN soon!

Shown with pilot before takeoff! Advancing throttles slowly makes the model easy as a trainer to take off and to land! According to the builder/pilot

construction is very basic and friendly with balsa and plywood. covering is iron-on MonoKote and UltraCote retracts are mechanical Robarts with Robo struts.

full-size aircraft pix for comparison! The model is great. Andy calls it a sport model but it would do great in Fun Scale or Sportsman competition

Hi Mr. Garryy,

I am a new member of the Forum and I am beginning the construction of the C-131 Samaritam of MODEL AIRPLANE NEWS, is possible you to put more pictures of the construction or to send me for e-mail, because I have some points that it doesn't show in the plans how to do the correct construction and the worst is that the copy that was sent of the article of the magazine this almost impossible one of some detail to be seen.

Thankful for the attention
