I am getting some new 4400 batteries for christmas and would like to charge both of them at the same time. They are grouped by voltage and zapped so I am assuming they are matched. Would it be ok to charge them on my triton simutaneously?

you can charge them in series only if they both are run down the same amount.

You "can" but I really don't recommend it.
I'll back up what kschauwe said. If you have them discharged to exactly the same amount, you should be okay. But otherwise, I'd just do them 1 at a time.
What kind of power supply do you have for your triton?

I do not have a power supply yet. I just use a marine battery. So no on the dual battery charging?

It is possible but not reccomended, especially if you are spending the money for matched packs I would not risk messing them up. Within 1 pack the resistances of the connections between cells is the same but the jumper wire you would have to use between packs will be of a different resistance and could effect the charge of one of the packs. One could peak before the other and if it doesn't trip the detection you would overcharge that pack.

Yeah I'd definitely not reccommend it. Many racers just buy 2 identical chargers instead, and that works well, although it obviously is not the cheapest thing in the world :P

here is a charger that is designed to charge 2 batteries at the same time

I believe he already has a Triton, which is a very nice charger...I had the one you linked, and it stopped working within a month or two of the warranty expiring and was not the best charger while I had it:)

yea the triton i beleive can handle 12 cell charge, but your packs will never be performing to what they can, when the majority of hte cells peak the charge will stop, and since there are more cells there is a higher risk of cells being cut off premature.

Some really top end drivers nowadays are even charging entire battery packs cell by cell (simultaneously though, not one by one) each cell is individually montiroed and charged - kinda like having 6 chargers.

So, to re-itterate what everyone else has said, can be done, but dont.

AE, what are you running them in?
I run two 7 cell packs in a boat that are wired in series.
I then charge them in series as a 14 cell pack.

I am running them in my E-revo, which has the stock titans, a B4, and a stampede. I know the evx drains one side more than the other so I would have to discharge them at the same level. I just dont want to spend 2 hours charging batteries. But I just might have to. By the way the batteries are Maxamps 4.4K

Yeah that was the problem I have with my E-Maxx and trying to charge both the Lipos for a parking lot run of my B4. I guess you just have to percivere until you can afford a second Triton...maybe check eBay?

On a side note, how are those 4.4k batts? The green ones, right? I can't quite remember, but I think those were the ones I was about to purchase, in 7 cell packs too.

if they are as good as the 4K's they are pretty sweet cells, the 4k's i used to run where very good, stayed cool always, charged well and didnt false peak. i gueds the 4.4's are better.

Take care,
