Mr. Lee congratulations on 40 years of interesting engine articles. I always looked at your articles first in RCM till they when out of business. I haven't seen very many of your articles in Model airplane News since I don't subscribe to it. My question is about the Tower .75 engine. Have you done a review on it? I Would like to read what you have to say about it if you have reviewed it. Some members of my club and I are having a disagreement about what size prop to use on it. The plane is a Hobbico trainer 60 Some of the experts in the club say to use a 12 X 6 I say that is not enough. We are currently using a 13 X 6 and the plane pulls fine turning about 12300 rpm.Thank you for any information you can give me.

Dear J.,

Sorry, but I have not reviewed the Tower 75 - only the 40 and 46. A 12 x 6 is definitely too small a prop for the engine. Even the 13 x 6 turning 12,300 is turning the engine pretty fast, especially after unloading in the air. I would try to prop the engine in the 11,500 range with possibly a 13 x 7.

Regards,

Clarence Lee
