I have a question regarding lubricating glow fuel engines after cleaning them. One of the recommendations that I have seen is using Marvel Mystery Oil. However I was wondering if a product like Slick 50, or a similar automotive production, could be used to help reduce friction, wear, and varnish build up. It is an product with many claims but if used in a limited quantity couldn't it benefit glow engines as well? Could it be used on gas engines too?

Dear Mr. B.,
Marvel Mystery Oil is an excellent after-run oil and Marvel Air Tool Oil is even better. A 50/50 mix of Marvel Mystery Oil and automatic transmission fluid also makes an excellent after-run and storage oil
You definitely do not want to run Slick 50 in a model engine.
We found years ago when it first came out that it forms a build up on parts and will actually lock up an ABC type engine.
Good flying,
