Suggestions for Tires?

Anyone with any suggestions for a 1/10th scale touring car tire that does not expode at high RPMs?

Yes, I'm with you there. I am considering belted rubber tires if the belts are indeed in place to prevent excessive tire expansion at speed and to reinforce the tire. My main concern is what brand of foam tires will not explode at the high RPM of the competition. Some hold up, some don't.

Nic was using bsr racing capped tires on his e-ntc3. Thats what Im planning on going with. Im just waiting on a email from the company.

I take that back. I just talked to ziggy and he said hes tested 45 shore foam tires upto 150mph. So im going with foams.

Do you know what brand of 45 shore tires Ziggy was using, or can you pass on an e-mail address or contact info for him?

I believe there is going to be a tire diameter limit for 1/10 scale cars. Don't know what it is, though.

65mm tyre dia limit for 1/10th scale cars as they are the ones for the kit.

Any 45 shore foams are good. GRP etc... They are cheap on RC mushroom

great set of wheels, looks like cutting those hig rollers for drag racing down to small sidwalls should provide a better tire. The glue that bonds the foam is only so strong and so foam its self. Reducing the mass of the foam will reduce the forces that trying to detroy those bonds.

For my car I plan on using capped and foam tires form TM Tires. I should be able to have my own custom foams made. Looking to do have a 40/45 shore combo similar to the Plaid front tires but on both the inside and outside edges of the tire. It should keep the black bannana peel from spliting off the rim.
