Well I've decided to move from nitro to electric. The nitros are just so much work and very expensive. I'm looking to get into the 1/10 stadium trucks in the electric field but I'm not sure what truck to get. Any suggestions on whats a good all round truck?? Its more for just play but the occasional race. Any help is appreciated.

The T4.
On the track, it will keep up and can be tuned in to be the best of the best.
Bashing, it can be a lot of fun. Durable and fun in general. For bashing I'd pick up a team kit, put in a 15t motor, a 7 cell pack, and have fun. It'd be hitting around 30 and depending on the battery, good run time.
If you can afford it, brushless is the way to go. A 5700 Mamba System and a 2s lipo is ideal, but there are cheaper ways to go. The T4 is a great truck and like most Associated cars, it goes together smoothly. I'd pick up a Blue Alloy front hinge pin brace, titanium turnbuckles, and as many batteries as you can.
What type of budget do you have?

Right now I'm looking to spend about $250-$300. So that should get me started with the truck RTR and a cell or two. I did a little research on this truck and it seems to be a decent ride. And for $230 RTR on Amain I think I'm sold. Any other opinions are welcome.

Like I said, I'd go with the kit. If you want, I can price a decent ride out for you using the Team Kit and what you'll need/want for under $300 shipped.

Yeah that sounds good. Now after you price out everything with it essentially be an RTR? It will have a controller too right? Let me know. Thanks.

Yes, but you will need to put it all together. The instructions are really easy, and will tell you at what point you need what. Gimme 10 minutes and I'll have it all priced out nicely.

I just spent a little bit pricing out a low cost set up with a stock motor and 7 cell 1900 pack, and all together it was over $350...how I don't know, but it was. I guess you are kinda stuck with the RTR for now for the price. Weird, I woulda sworn I could price it out, I guess not. The RTR is fine, but I personally prefer building my own stuff.

Just to add some extra info.........yeah building your own stuff is usually better. You get better spec stuff like better shocks and such. However, I bought an RTR B4, the twin brother of the T4 and it is very good. I have taken mine apart and rebuilt it and it does go together nicely.
However, if you shop around you can get radio gear from ebay for damn good prices. The problem is, if you buy radio gear from one place, the esc from another, motor another, and truck kit from another, shipping does add up pretty quickly. You can save a lot of money by buying bits from all over the show, so it does kinda balance out.
A great radio to start with is the Traxxas TQ radios. You can get brand new ones on ebay including receiver, transmitter, and crystals for as low as about $15, that's pretty good for a brand new set. And even though they are cheap, they seem to be very good for a radio to get going. I bought one set and all together, with shipping from a shop on ebay called Richez Rc Depot it was about $20 international. So it wasn't bad. Here is the shop I got it from, but there are others that sell them brand new stripped from a new truck http://stores.ebay.com/RICH-S-********_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm
You can pick up brand new motors from ebay clearance stores. There is an Associated clearance store on ebay which I recommend (when they are open LOL) http://stores.ebay.com/Team-Associated-Clearance_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm Some amazing prices for fast motors there. Make sure you check them out when they get back from holiday. They have motors that Tower sells for about $69 that this clearance place sells for about $20.
If you are prepared to look around, you can find things pretty cheaply that will make an excellent truck to get started with.
Good luck

I'll probably just start out with the RTR. From what I was reading you can totally upgrade it from the RTR race spec so thats the way I'm going to go. Trust me I'd love to build my own from a kit but the bank says I can't at this point. So now when I do get the truck what size battery pack should I get? For a charger I just want a regualar wall charger. Nothing fancy.

You don't get much cheaper new. Seriously, SAVE UP! Better to wait a month and get something like this: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLD5&P=ML that you will still be using when you get nicer packs.

Mini- I appreciate all the help thus far. You've been a huge help. One more question though. I planned on buying the everything from Amain. I've picked out a battery and charger from there. They're what I think is right going by the ones you posted for me and what I've been reading. Take a look.
