ok...correct me if i'm worng

got my porsche turbo body from hpi and wanna paint it but cant, because i dont know how

1. wash the inside with warm water and soap and let it dry, or wipe up with lint free clth

2. mask it... how?

3, spray paint it.....

4. let er dry and remove the masks

please tell me when sanding comes into this and

fill in anything i missed

What? Its in there, maybe not in Section II, but its in there.

I dont use sandpaper, I scuff it with a Scotch-Brite Pad (I think thats what its called...found in most kitchens). You do so when you get the body before all else.

edit: No, you definitely didn't read it. Beginning of section II under Prep Time. First paragraph.

but if i sand it all down then the windows will be scratched up... no?

Don't sand the windows. You are right, they will appear scuffed because you leave them clear. Its all in the guide I linked you :)

@Fester:

You really should sand the body before you start. I've noticed that my bodies are coming out better and the paint is not scratching off at all. :)

Also, you can touch the inside of the body to some extent (you kinda need to for masking) as long as you wash your hands before hand to the oils etc from your skin don't get on the body.

i tried sanding once,i didnt like it,thanks though.

a good cleaning with dish soap should survise!

What didn't you like about it? I'm just curious because I've never heard of anyone having any trouble or w/e. all it really does it scuff the body making it easier for paint to adhere. I mean you don't wanna go after it with coarse paper, just a single pass to scuff it.
