I am a new menmber to this forum today and I am looking for helpful information. Back in the day I was very much into my 46" Sightler custom made RC Boat and has all the time in the world to work on it but very limited budget. Now older, I seem to have a little more money and no time. I really want to get back into running my boat but don't have the time to invest in setting the boat up properly and getting it back to its glory days. I did try several years ago to revive her with a new .90 engine and radio gear but shot the shaft out the back of the boat on the first trial run, the shaft was set up for a .45 engine she used to have. Since then she has been sitting collecting dust. I am trying to find either an individual or hobby shop that is good at setting these boats up, hopefully in Virginia but o.k. if not. I could ship the boat and all gear and pay for the upgrades and set up so in my very limited time I could enjoy running her. Any help would be apprieciated I can be e-mailed at ChesapeakeBoatBasin@verizon.net. thanks, Clay

Clay, there aren't too many places if any that I'd send a boat to for upgrades or repairs. I'd be worried about getting it back.
If you know what you're doing, just put in what little time that you can to fix it yourself. Sometimes it's surprising what you can get done in an hour.
It sounds like what you need to do is remove the stuffing tube and strut, replace it and the flex cable upgrading it to a 1/4" setup. It goes faster than you think.
Your next best option after that would be to find an R/C boat club in your area and have one of their members help you out. If you don't know of one, ask around at a hobby shop or look at www.impba.net for clubs in your area.
