comes with a free battery too! its a smaller one, but its more run time. would this be a good airplane to learn on? its cheap, come with 2 batteries, and a 4 channel radio! i would probably not use the charger it comes with, i would probably use my Triton Jr. charger.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the Hobbico Cessna is not a good beginner plane. Its very underpowered and its 4-channel control is difficult for a beginner to start with. If you really like this plane, replace the motor with a brushless outrunner, add a LiPo and you'll have a pretty nice SECOND or THIRD plane.

well i bought it anyway lol! as soon as i got it together, i quickly built it, and then took it out side to taxi it down the street to get a feel for how the throttle/rudder work.

i didnt get a chanse to fly it till a few days later because of winds.i found the perfect place to fly my plane at as well. its a long road that dead ends at a huge field. i had 1 other air plane before this one that never flew, so i was determined to get this one to fly. i put it on the road and made sure it was strait. then i rolled up to full throttle and prayed. it took longer than i though, right before it hit the dirt on the open field, it lifted off! yay, my first time flying something in the air lol! once air born, ir flew pretty well. it responded nicely to my inputs and felt smooth. my only problem was that it was REALLY fast, and this scared me. ony thing i could think of while flying was "im gonna crash, im gonna crash, im gonna crash". i flew it around for maybe 2 minutes, i did some fly bys and some spirals, and was so scared of crashing by that point i wanted it on the ground LOL! i slowly throttled down, but came to the road too fast. i passed the road and turned around to make a second attempt. but after the turn, i didnt have enough throttle to make a climb, so i just continued to throttle down and land in the field instead of the road. well, i didnt realize how rough the field was, plus the dirt was frozen, so when i landed, i broke my front landing gear off! needless to say, i was glad that the only thing i broke on my first flight was the mounts for the front landing gear and not the entire plane lol.

im already looking forward to the second flight. i want to try it with just enough throttle so it can climb so i can fly a little slower next time. but now im hooked, i like flying!
