Hi all,
I am new to this forum and to R/C Airplanes. I do not have a plane yet. But I have been flying on Great Planes Real Flight G3.5 for months and am pleased with my improvement. I origanally thought I wanted to go the Heli route, but found myself liking the planes more. I still meww with the helis from time to time and work on hovering, but most of my time I enjoy flying planes. Well to my question.

There are 2 planes I have been looking at and like, but I am not sure of the real differences. I don't think the differences are that much but I want to ask for your input.

Hobbico FlyZone Piper J-3 Cub RTF w/4-Channel Radio

Hobbico FlyZone Cessna 182 4-Channel RTF 34.8"
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNHS0**&P=0

Any thoughts on these planes. There is the Flyzone Cessna 182 in Realflight. Flies nice. The only Piper on there are ones I have downloaded from the user forums so I am not sure how accurately they fly like the real plane. Any thought would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

I second backdraft. I did a review on the Super Cub in a previous backyard flyer and found it to be an excellent learning platform.

In fact for the price, it is hard to beat.

Thanks for the input. The reason I was leaning to the ones I listed and not the one you listed is I wanted a 4 channel unit. And they are the same price and you get a 4 channel. I will look into the Super Cub more though.

Thanks,

Bill

I wouuld like input on the Piper Cub. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSBM0**&P=SM

I want a 4 channel. Since that is what I practice with on my simulater. I have read a review and they talk well of this plane.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Bill

I have never flown either of these planes so I can not provide an opinion.

If you are working with an instructor/coach, then folllow their recommendations. If you are going to be working on your own, with no help, then the Hobbyzone Super Cub and the Multiplex Easy Star areteh two planes I recommend and the two planes that have the best track record of successfully helping new flyers get their wings.

Your mileage may vary.

Hi all,
Well I did not take your advice on the super cub. Maybe I should have. But I got a Flyzone Piper J-3 Cub. There was an issue putting it together. But I got it together. But honestly I have yet to fly it. I just got it together last week. It is ready to go. But I am waiting on decent weather. Either it is hot or windy. Or I am not feeling up to it. (I am disabled.) But I am determined to get it out very soon. Maybe tomorrow. Even though it is supposed to be hot. I thought it won't take long to fly it once or twice. I could deal with the heat that long I think. I will post a update once I fly it.
