has anyone tried this yet?? i know the evx2 says it can handle 16.8v but on my old evx 14.4 i was running 7 cells just fine with no heat. so i was wondering if i could do the same with the 16.8? i m checking on the forum before i actually attempt this though.

I've seen a few blow up on 16.8 now. Apparently they can't handle 2 7-cell packs, let alone 2 8-cell packs. Maybe with an external BEC and the onboard one disabled?

wow really? thats pretty weak then...evx2 blowing up on 16.8. i guess im pretty lucky that my 14.4 never blew up when i ran my 7 cell packs.
so what if my evx 2 happens to fry with 7 cells, anyone know if traxxas will give me a new one? or am i just outta luck?
