I usually cut then paint, because then you wont screw up the paint when you cut it. But if your good at cutting, then I guess it wont matter...

I prefer cut then paint. Makes marking holes for body posts, motors etc... easier.

The First time I did my own body I painted then cut. It turned out great. But its a preference i guess. Cutting first does make more sense to me though.

I just cut, to feel alive!

Seriously, cut then paint. I should probably start cutting wheel arches and body post / antenna holes beforehand because I usually make a mistake with those.

Paint first then cut. I mark the locations for body posts, antenna, etc first, but I always paint before I do any sort of cutting.

i prefer to cut then paint, i always screw up the body post holes and what not if i paint then cut. i mean, they have the overspray film for a reason right?

When I paint bodies, I like to first mark the body mounting/post holes and the antenna hole and then paint. Most cars bodies come with a protective layer of wrap so the exterior doesn't get painted, but whenever i cut first, every time i handle the body it starts to peel off. If you paint first and have a decent set of body cutting snips, and are patient, I've seen better results that way.

Its been some time, however..

I would do the holes for mounting, and the antenna.. Paint, then trim for the wheel openings, etc..

I screwed up a body by messing up the hole punch cut out after paint. I'll always do that stuff first now, when its easy to see.. :D

I always paint then cut with good results. I may try to cut-then-paint for the next body, just to see how it goes.

I don't think I've ever seen you cut then paint.

Whoops, I meant to say paint then cut. I have never cut then paint. I should start doing fenders and holes, and basic score lines so it's easier to see once it's painted up though. Sry!

I like to 'Cut, then Paint.' Makes locating the tires, mounting posts, antenna, and other openings (nitro guy here) a no-brainer.

You can also see if there will be any wear-points inside without having to first lose paint instead.
