The 3rd annual Great Planes E-Fest was held this weekend was held on February 9th and 10th at the University of Illinois Armory. This huge building is the perfect venue for showcasing the latest in electric aircraft and some of the best pilots talents. As you can see below, the place is huge!
GP showed some of their new planes in development such as the Yak being held by Jason Noll. Dave Johnson brought his Gotha bomber which he designed and built in one week!

There was something for enthusiasts of all ages. The "Kids' Make it Take it" was a hit with the younger crowd.
The E-Flite Blade heli was popular as shown in this line-up of Blade owners.
Mark Leseberg flew the Andrew Jesky Blender.
Defending champ, Nick Maxwell won the Heli Smackdown
Bobby Watts gets down low.

That looks like a cool event. What did pilots have to do for the Heli Smackdown?

Awesome event Klaus! I had no idea, the venue was so big! Looks like they could have a glow powered "Small Steps" event there!
