Hi I was in RC from about '98-'04 and had to store the RC's and leave the scene due to a move and financial problems. Well finally dug them out and want to get back in I have a Emaxx with wide suspension and Ti-Driveshafts all the way around. Heard about the new brushless Maxx that just came out. anyways fill me in. I want to go out and play whats a good set of batteries to run these days that are affordable 100 bucks or less for a pair. i made a set of 7 cell batts back in the day, but theyre shot now. anything else i might need to know would be helpful.

since your getting back into the hobby, i would do some research on Lipo battery's. They will cost you a bit more in the beginning, but will save you in the end and give you better performance at the same time.
as far as nimh batterys, there have been issues with bad cells, venting cells and even had a few cells blow up with ib4200's and (intellect 4200's seem to be a little more stable however still have issues as well). The new ep4600 cells have so far been a little better the ones i have run. I have an intellect 4600 and like the ep pack a little better, more punch and seems to charge to or past its ratted capacity where the intellect has fallen short since the first charge and only is able to charge up to 4300 or a touch more.
